Fred Thompson To Announce Run for White House (and Larry Craig's Resignation) UPDATED

Why Not? After all, he's quite the expert at announcing the inevitable. Of course, his timing is usually well, untimely. Like, two months untimely (Thompson was originally expected to announce his candidacy on July 4, and now it's slated for September 6).

Speaking of Craig, I know you've probably heard the audio tape (and if you haven't, you can hear it by clicking here), but this is the best snippet:

OFFICER: Have you been successful in these
bathrooms here before?
CRAIG: I go to that bathroom regularly.

Now that's playing dumb (which he attempts--unsuccessfully--to do throughout the interview)! What did he think the officer was asking, whether his fiber intake had made him "successful" in the batroom? What a bizarre person.

UPDATE: Craig to resign, possibly as early as today.

UPDATE 2: Looks like the announcement will come on Saturday, instead. Boy, this sounds more and more like a Fred Thompson announcement every minute!!!
